Report on the Tetote Handmade Award 2013

The 37th Japan Hobby Show 2013 is expected to attract more than 130,000 visitors. I was, however, surprised to see more buyers than visitors today, queuing up for tickets.

第37回日本ホビーショー2013の予想来場者数は延べ13万人以上。でも、チケットの列には一般入場者よりもバイヤーの方が多い感じで、ちょっと驚きました。

I honestly can't remember the last time I got a prize.

正直言って、最後に表彰されたのはいつだったか．．．思い出せません。

All of the winners from among 7,439 entrants are honored to be recognized for the award.

応募総数7,439点の中から選ばれたことは本当に光栄なことです。

A whole range of amazing handicrafts are available for sale, some of which really inspired me.

ありとあらゆるハンドメイド品が販売されています。そのうちのいくつかに大いに触発されました。








追伸：応募総数7,439点という数字が意味するものは想像以上に重かったです。久々に表舞台に上がり、アドレナリン全開でした。それにしても会場は凄い熱気。デジタルで安易にものづくりができる今だからこそ、地味で愚直な手作業の価値が再認識されているのではないでしょうか。開催は今週土曜（27日）まで。一見の価値ありです。　

Gearing Up for the Show

Making free samples for the 37th Japan Hobby Show 2013, which will be held on April 25, 26 and 27 at Tokyo Big Sight, with over 130,000 visitors expected to attend. 

4月25、26、27日に東京ビッグサイトで開催される第37回2013日本ホビーショーに向け、フリーサンプルを制作中。来場者は13万人超！

Just purse your lips and whistle. That's the thing.  口をすぼめて口笛を吹こう。それが肝心だよ。

Thank you so much for your support and votes, everyone! Yes, I won a come-from-behind victory in the tetote Handmade Award 2013 (the Interior and Miscellaneous Goods category) with half an hour left on the clock! More details to follow as I learn more. (The official announcement of the winners will be made on April 25 at the 37th Japan Hoppy Show 2013.)
